Hunting with pointers "on a feather" is one of exciting and dynamic hunting with well trained gun dog. For these aims both island pointers (English pointer, English, Irish and Scotch setter) and continental (Shorthair German pointers, Drathaar, and rarely - Langhaar, Shtichelkhaar, small and large Myunsterlandr) are utilized.
    Hunting begins in August on the broods of the coniferous forest game - wood grouse, black grouse, woodcocks and ptarmigan. There is possibility to hunt on double snipe, snipe, half snipe on the opened water-meadows, and on the fields - on a grey partridge, quail and landrail. Such hunting with graduate pointers settled, as a rule, for a week before the terms set for most hunters.
In the first half of October particular interest is presented by hunt on a woodcock on the autumn "pouring" out.
    Working in a close touch with a hunter, pointer, due to a thin flair, searches for a hiding bird and stops at dead set, waiting for the command of explorer up grade birds. A hunter gets large aesthetic pleasure from high quality work of dog and possibility often to shoot on risings from under bars birds.
